Gentle, holistic psychiatry for women and teens-with a special focus on autistic girls and the families who love them

Mahogany Jays Wellness offers compassionate psychiatric care for women and teens navigating anxiety, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. I have a special focus on autistic girls and families managing late diagnosis and school-related stress.

Autistic girls- especially Black girls- are often overlooked or diagnosed later than their peers. This practice was built with that awareness in mind.

Currently accepting Aetna insurance and private pay.

For Girls Who are Trying So Hard

Some girls look “fine” at school but fall apart at home.
They are bright, sensitive, thoughtful — and exhausted from trying to keep it together.
I provide affirming psychiatric care for autistic girls and teens who may be masking, overwhelmed, or misunderstood.
I also support parents navigating late diagnosis, school stress, and advocacy fatigue.

  • You’re a woman who feels emotionally drained, overwhelmed, or stretched thin—and you’re ready for support that actually feels supportive.

  • You’re a mother carrying the mental load for your family, often putting yourself last.

  • You’re raising a neurodivergent or emotionally sensitive child or teen and feel unsure how to support them without losing yourself in the process.

  • You’ve tried therapy or medication before, but it felt rushed, impersonal, or incomplete.

  • You want care that looks at the whole picture—your mind, body, life stressors, and nervous system—not just a diagnosis.

  • You’re open to a gentle, integrative approach, with medication used thoughtfully and intentionally when appropriate.

  • You want a provider who listens, explains, and partners with you—rather than telling you what to do.

You’re in the right place if:

You don’t have to hold everything alone anymore.

At Mahogany Jays Wellness, care begins with regulation, relationship, and understanding the full context of your life.

I work with women—many of whom are mothers— navigating their own mental health while supporting emotionally sensitive or neurodivergent children and teens. Care is holistic and considers the whole picture —emotional health, nervous system balance, daily rhythms, and the realities of family life.

Care may include:

  • psychiatric evaluation and medication management when appropriate

  • nervous system support and emotional regulation tools

  • mindfulness practices, grounding practices, and affirmations

  • education and gentle guidance for parents

  • education, support and gentle guidance for parents and caregivers

This is not rushed care.
This is intentional, supportive, and steady.

A Different Way of Caring for Families

What Makes Care Here Different

Mental health care doesn’t have to feel rushed, impersonal, or one-size-fits-all.

At Mahogany Jays Wellness, care is thoughtful and collaborative. Appointments are designed to give you space— to be heard, to understand what’s happening in your body and mind, and to move at a pace that feels supportive.

We take time to look at patterns, not just symptoms. We consider life stress, family dynamics, nervous system health, and daily rhythms alongside diagnosis and treatment options.

Medication is used intentionally—when it’s helpful, appropriate, and aligned with your goals. Education, nervous system support, and practical tools are always part of the process.

Here, you’re not just treated. You’re supported.

There’s no one right way to begin. Care is shaped around your needs, your goals, and the season of life you’re in.

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your teen, or both, we’ll move at a pace that feels steady and supportive.
